The maltiverse.com website located at https://www.maltiverse.com is a copyrighted work belonging to Maltiverse S.L. Certain features of the Site may be subject to additional guidelines, terms, or rules, which will be posted on the Site in connection with such features.

All such additional terms, guidelines, and rules are incorporated by reference into these Terms.

These Terms of Use describe the legally binding terms and conditions that oversee your use of the Site. BY LOGGING INTO THE SITE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS and you represent that you have the authority and capacity to enter into these Terms.


Definitions

  • "We," "our," "us," or "Maltiverse" refers to Maltiverse S.L.
  • "You," "yourself," or "your" refers to users and clients of Maltiverse and the Services, defined below.
  • "Services" refers to all websites, APIs, products, subscriptions, and any other paid and free services and software developed, produced, provided by, and otherwise created by Maltiverse.
  • "Premium Services" refers to all paid Services, including "Maltiverse Intelligence" and "Maltiverse Platform" as defined below.
  • "Content" refers to any information, data, text, graphics, links, audio, photos, videos, or other materials uploaded, downloaded, or appearing on the Services, including any feedback, suggestion, or comment you submit to us, our employees, the Services, or any party affiliated with Maltiverse.
  • "Threat Intelligence data" is evidence-based knowledge, including context, mechanisms, indicators, implications, and action-oriented advice about an existing or emerging menace or hazard to IT assets. This intelligence can be used to inform decisions regarding the subject’s response to that menace or hazard.

Consent

These Terms and our Privacy Policy govern your access to and use of the Services and Content. By using and accessing the Services, you agree that you have read, understood, and consent to be bound by the latest revision of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.


Use of the Services

By using and accessing the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

You may only use the Services for lawful purposes, in a manner which is not expressly prohibited by these Terms, and in a manner which does not infringe on our rights or interests or the rights and interests of third parties.

You must abstain from any activity that could damage, overload, harm, or impede the normal functioning of the Services.

You must refrain from illicitly or fraudulently obtaining our Content and access to the Services.

You may not attempt to reverse engineer, scan, probe, or circumvent any portion of the Services in any manner and for any reason.


User Accounts

You must create a user account using an active email address to be granted access to many of the Services. Your username will be displayed by any comment you post and any edits, submissions, or changes performed by you to our Content, even after account deletion.


Account Deletion

User accounts can be deleted from the "User Profile" page by clicking the "Delete Account" button and following the prompts.

When your account is deleted, your email, password, subscriptions, permissions, and preferences are removed from our database. Your title, organization, first name, and last name are also removed from our database if provided to us. For more information on how we treat deleted accounts, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Your username, user ID, and API key will not be removed from our database to prevent reuse. You will not be able to register a new account with the same username.


Support and Feedback

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to perform updates and bug fixes to the Services in accordance with our regular business practices. We have full discretion to determine whether or not to proceed with the development of any requested enhancements, features, functionality, fixes, design changes, or any other updates or revisions to the Services.

Any Content you may provide to Maltiverse or the Services is entirely voluntary. You hereby grant us the right to use such Content as necessary to provide the Services to you. Additional intellectual property claims to any Content you may provide are outlined in the Intellectual Property section.


Premium Services

Some of the Services are made available through purchase or paid subscription. We reserve the right to limit the sale of or terminate any of our Premium Services to any person, geographic region, or jurisdiction with reasonable notice and for legitimate reasons.

Description of Premium Services

  • Maltiverse Community: Free access to limited threat intelligence data provided by Maltiverse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
  • Maltiverse Intelligence: Provides extended platform access to threat intelligence provided by Maltiverse under CC BY 4.0, including higher consumption limits and additional platform features.
  • Maltiverse Platform: Includes all features of Maltiverse Intelligence plus a dedicated tenant/database where you can upload and store your own Threat Intelligence data. The data you upload remains private and is owned by you.

Licensing

Threat Intelligence data collected and provided by Maltiverse is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). This means that the data is licensed with the requirement of attribution, and you can copy, modify, distribute, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, as long as you provide appropriate credit to Maltiverse, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

Users of the "Maltiverse Platform" have ownership over the Threat Intelligence data they upload to their dedicated tenant/database. This data remains private and is not shared with any third parties under any circumstances, unless required by law.

Reselling and Commercial Use Licenses

If you intend to use Maltiverse Services in a commercial product or to provide services to your customers (e.g., as a Managed Security Service Provider), you must obtain the appropriate license:

  • Reselling License: Provides the right for a paid plan beneficiary to use Maltiverse Services with their customers. This license is required for Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and is only available in the Maltiverse Platform plan.
  • Commercial Use License: Provides the right for a paid plan beneficiary to use Maltiverse Services in a commercial product. This license is required for product vendors and manufacturers and is only available in the Maltiverse Platform plan.

Failure to comply with the terms of the license agreement may result in termination of your access to the Services. In the event of non-compliance with the software license, we reserve the right to take legal action against you to recover damages and seek injunctive relief. You acknowledge and agree that any such legal action will be conducted in a court of competent jurisdiction.

You are responsible for ensuring that any individual or entity that you authorize to access the software complies with the terms of the software license agreement. Any violation of the software license agreement by any individual or entity you authorize to access the Service may result in termination of your access to the Service.

If we determine that you have violated the software license agreement, we may provide you with notice and an opportunity to cure the violation. If the violation is not cured within 30 days, your access to the software may be terminated.


Pricing

We reserve the right to change prices of our Premium Services at any time with reasonable notice and for legitimate reasons. Subscription to our Premium Services is time-limited but auto-renewed unless cancelled. You will not be affected by any price changes during the term of any outstanding subscription, but price changes will apply upon renewal.


Payment Processing

Payments for Premium Services are accepted via bank transfers. Payment details and instructions will be provided upon subscription. We reserve the right to refuse any payment method.


Renewals and Cancellations

Premium Services will renew automatically at the end of the current billing cycle unless canceled before the end of the current billing cycle.

Premium Services can be canceled from the "User Profile" page in the "Subscription" section by clicking "Cancel Subscription" in the respective Premium Service's section and following the prompts. We reserve the right to terminate any Premium Service with reasonable notice and for legitimate reasons.


Refunds

You have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract without giving any reason. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw by an unequivocal statement. We will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw.

After the initial 14-day withdrawal period, refunds may be issued on a case-by-case basis, in compliance with EU consumer rights. Please contact us to request a refund.


Privacy

Our information collection, use, and sharing activities are outlined in our Privacy Policy, comprising an integral part of these Terms.


Intellectual Property

You acknowledge that:

  1. The Services and Software contain proprietary and confidential information of Maltiverse and its licensors, protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws.
  2. Maltiverse and its licensors own all rights, titles, and interests in and to the Services, trademarks, service marks, symbols, icons, logos, shapes, and designs, including and without limitation all Intellectual Property Rights therein.

Threat Intelligence Data Provided by Maltiverse

All Threat Intelligence data collected and provided by Maltiverse is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). This means:

  • Share — You can copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — You can remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
  • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit to the original source (in blacklist.source field), provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests Maltiverse endorses you or your use.

When using or citing the work, you should not imply endorsement by the original source.

Content You Provide

Users of the "Maltiverse Platform" may upload their own Threat Intelligence data to their dedicated tenant/database. You retain all ownership rights in any Content you provide, and it remains private. We will not share, distribute, or otherwise disclose your data to any third party under any circumstances, unless required by law.

By providing Content to the Services, you grant us the right to use such Content as necessary to provide the Services to you.


Data Collection

We collect information, including personal information, from visitors of the Site, as well as our registered users, customers, and partners. We also collect certain information when anyone uses the Site.

We collect and process personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

Vulnerability Reporting

We welcome reports of vulnerabilities in our Services. If you discover a vulnerability, please contact us at support@maltiverse.com before disclosing it to any third party. Unauthorized attempts to access, alter, or damage the Services are prohibited.

We do not offer a public bug bounty program, and any testing of our security controls must be conducted with our explicit written permission.


Changes to the Services

The Services may change at any time, with reasonable notice where possible. We may notify you of significant changes to Premium Services, but we retain full discretion to determine whether or not to do so.

We retain the right to create limits on use and storage at our sole discretion at any time with reasonable notice. We retain the right to permanently or temporarily stop providing the Services with reasonable notice.

Any changes to the Services are subject to these Terms.


Disclaimers

Your access to and use of the Services is at your own risk. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, Maltiverse disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.


Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Maltiverse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Services;
  • Any content obtained from the Services;
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for losses which may not be lawfully excluded or limited by applicable law.


Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain.

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through negotiation in good faith. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, the courts of Madrid, Spain, shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms.


Technology and Export Restrictions

The Services, and any derivatives thereof, are subject to export laws and regulations of Spain and other jurisdictions. You agree to comply with all applicable international and national laws that apply to the Services.


Updates to These Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time, with reasonable notice where possible. Any updates will be reflected here. By continuing to use and access the Services, you agree to be bound by the latest revision of these Terms.


Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maltiverse and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your use of the Services.


Assignment

Maltiverse may assign these Terms and the Privacy Policy, or any of its rights and/or obligations thereunder, to any third party with reasonable notice. In any event of assignment as aforesaid, all the provisions of these Terms shall apply to the assigned party, mutatis mutandis.


Surviving Sections

The Sections titled "Disclaimers," "Limitation of Liability," "Indemnification," and "Governing Law and Jurisdiction," and other provisions herein that preserve Maltiverse’s rights in and with respect to the Services, will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.


Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Services shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Madrid, Spain.


Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Maltiverse and supersede any prior agreements between you and Maltiverse with respect to the Services. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Maltiverse.
